Hotel Realm Canberra Wedding: Charlie & Raelle

Sometimes when things don’t go your way, its for the better - and Raelle & Charlie’s Wedding day at Hotel Realm in Canberra is an example of how sometimes Plan B turns out better than Plan A.

The original plan was to have an outdoor ceremony at Brassey Hotel across the road however, the Canberra skies had other plans. The rain clouds started rolling in whilst Charlie & Raelle were getting readybut with calm hearts and open minds, they decided to pivot the ceremony inside the High Courtyard in Hotel Realm. The beautiful thing? It didn’t take away from the magic one bit.

Raelle & Charlie are the kind of couple who make you feel like an old friend within moments. There’s warmth in the way they look at each other, an ease in their laughter, and a beautiful quiet strength in how they handle change together. Even when things didn’t go their way, they never lost sight of what truly mattered—being present, together, and surrounded by love.

Hotel Realm in Canberra offered a sleek and elegant indoor setting inside the High Courtyard, and the staff were quick to adjust and make it feel just as special. Soft lighting, modern textures, and stunning florals transformed the space into something intimate and full of heart. Watching Raelle walk down the aisle, bouquet in hand, with emotion in the air—you’d never know this wasn’t the original plan. Plus, we were able to stay dry from the rain!

One of my favourite moments from the day wwas capturing them with their two pups just before the ceremony. With the help of Guest of Honour Pet Chaperones, they accompanied Boston & George the whole day. They were all smiles (the dogs included!), and it was such a real, joyful pause in the day that perfectly reflected who they are as a couple—fun, grounded, and full of love. I 100%

Every detail spoke of intention. Raelle’s dress was a timeless off-the-shoulder piece that moved beautifully with her, while Charlie looked sharp in his classic black tux with a soft pink boutonnière to match the florals. The bursts of colour in the bouquet—pops of bold reds, corals and pinks—added the perfect touch of vibrance to a gloomy day.

Rain may have changed the logistics, but it didn’t touch the energy in the room. The whole day felt relaxed and full of joy, and it was such a privilege to document each moment as it unfolded.

Raelle & Charlie—thank you for trusting me to capture this chapter in your love story. You reminded me that sometimes Plan B turns out even more beautiful than Plan A.
